Created in collaboration with artist Sunny Mullarkey exclusively for the Women’s Monument Shop, this Art Deco puzzle is good for rainy days at the beach, relaxing evenings with the family, and meditative days when the patriarchy has got you down. The 1920s-inspired artwork depicts suffrage leaders Mary Church Terrell, Ida B. Wells, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Alice Paul–four women whose activism was vital in the final moments of the movement– amid silhouettes of marching suffragists. The portraits of these trailblazing women are surrounded by 36 yellow roses, a historic symbol of the victory of the movement symbolizing the 36 states that originally ratified the 19th Amendment. At the center of the piece stands a mythological woman, inspired by historic suffrage artwork, holding a banner with the words “Equality for All,” a motto used during the suffrage movement.
